645 Ventures is seeking a Senior Associate Investor to join its Investment & Research team, focusing on AI infrastructure, developer tools, enterprise AI, and cybersecurity. The role involves sourcing, evaluating, and investing in pre-seed and seed stage companies at high volume, with initial core investments ranging from $1M to $10M and a small-check program offering $100K initial investments.
Key responsibilities include sourcing high-quality investment opportunities using proprietary technology and networks; managing the investment pipeline and conducting due diligence; negotiating and structuring deals with the full I&R team and General Partners; building relationships with founders, seed investors, accelerators, and university communities; and supporting the firm's investment strategy to identify technology market waves driving billion-dollar growth.
The successful candidate will have 3–6 years of experience in venture capital, startups, investment banking, consulting, or angel investing, ideally with an MBA. Strong technical and operational skills are valued, as is a demonstrated track record of sourcing high-quality investments that have exited or attracted competitive follow-on funding. A robust network in the startup community—including access to elite deal flow producing exits in the $500M–$1B+ range—is essential.
Required skills include detail-oriented financial modeling and analytical capabilities (venture valuation, income statement analysis, unit economics, TAM analysis); strong understanding of venture capital deal terms; excellent written and verbal communication; relationship-building ability; and strong time management and multitasking. The role requires working from the San Francisco office at least four days per week and collaborating closely with the firm's Engineering and Portfolio Operations teams to leverage Voyager, the firm's proprietary software platform.
645 Ventures manages over $550M in AUM across five funds, investing across fintech, cybersecurity, B2B software, consumer, AI infrastructure, developer tools, and deep tech. The firm supports founders through a resource-intensive approach including hiring support, customer introductions, and growth strategy.
