Forter is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join the AI Engineering team, embedded directly with business functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Legal, Customer Success) to drive AI transformation across the organization.
In this outward-facing role, you will partner with GTM and G&A leaders to identify high-leverage AI opportunities, act as both product manager and engineer, and own the full lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and impact measurement. You'll serve as the primary technical AI advisor for business function leaders, helping them develop AI fluency and translating their operational needs into engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding with business teams to identify, scope, and prioritize AI opportunities
- Owning end-to-end solution delivery with focus on measurable business outcomes
- Developing hands-on AI enablement and training for non-technical teams
- Collaborating with the AI engineering team to leverage shared infrastructure (MCP servers, RAG systems, evaluation frameworks)
- Measuring and reporting on AI adoption impact to guide prioritization
You bring 7+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record shipping production systems. You have demonstrated success working directly with non-technical stakeholders to deliver technology-driven transformation. Exceptional communication skills are essential—you'll move fluidly between discovery sessions with executives, technical project briefs, and hands-on prompt engineering work. You have strong product instincts, thinking naturally in terms of user problems, adoption, and measurable outcomes. You're comfortable with ambiguity and self-direction, building your own roadmap by understanding the business. You're passionate about LLMs, prompt engineering, and modern AI application patterns including RAG, agents, and tool use.
