Tripadvisor is seeking an experienced Senior Application Security Engineer to join their team in London. This is a permanent role focused on securing the applications powering Tripadvisor Experiences, a global travel and experiences platform.
In this position, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced application security measures, including encryption, secure APIs, and identity management. You'll conduct in-depth threat modeling and risk assessments, perform manual security assessments and code reviews, and act as a subject matter expert for security incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing application security policies across multiple engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers to improve their security knowledge, and providing expert advice on security architecture for new features and systems. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to integrate security requirements into software development lifecycles, champion security initiatives by advocating for prioritization of security issues, and stay current with the latest security threats and industry best practices.
Required qualifications include extensive application security experience (4+ years as a Security Engineer or Application Security Analyst), hands-on expertise with security testing tools (SAST, DAST), strong understanding of encryption, secure software design, identity management, and API security. You should have experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and securing microservices architectures, proven leadership and mentoring skills, and excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred qualifications include experience with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, PCI-DSS, SOC 2), industry-recognized security certifications (OSCP, OSCE), and familiarity with the latest security tools and frameworks.
