ICEYE is seeking a Senior AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System) System Engineer to join its Engineering team in Warsaw, Poland. This role is central to ensuring ICEYE's satellite constellation maintains precise pointing for high-quality Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging. You will own the complete lifecycle of AOCS systems—from design and validation of future satellite generations to maintenance and operations of existing systems in orbit. Working closely with production, operations, and software teams, you will drive three key outcomes: increased imaging performance through hardware selection and in-orbit validation; maximized system availability via anomaly debugging and process improvements; and robust operational procedures. Key responsibilities include: - Selecting and characterizing AOCS hardware components (reaction wheels, magnetorquers, star trackers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, GNSS) - Designing and executing in-orbit experiments to validate performance - Developing software tools for performance prediction and anomaly debugging - Maintaining verification procedures and collaborating on test improvements - Debugging on-orbit anomalies using systematic root-cause analysis - Supporting software teams in implementing preventive measures - Establishing and evolving internal anomaly-handling processes You must bring strong fundamentals in AOCS physics (rigid body motion, differential equations, coordinate transformations, feedback control, state estimation, orbital dynamics) and deep knowledge of sensor/actuator failure modes. Proven experience owning cross-domain electromechanical systems through their full lifecycle is essential. You should demonstrate broad engineering knowledge spanning controls, mechanical, and electronics disciplines, with proficiency in Python, C++, or Matlab. The role reports to Jakub Lisowski, Engineering Manager. This is a permanent, hybrid position requiring 2–3 days onsite at the Warsaw office. Employment is subject to applicable security screening.
