Robinhood is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Wallet team, which is building secure, intuitive, and decentralized products for cryptocurrency and digital asset management. The Wallet team's mission is to democratize access to financial services worldwide by leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain. In this role, you will build and own new product features for the Robinhood Wallet Android app, developing reliable and secure solutions for a high-quality trading experience with cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, and perpetual futures for customers worldwide. You will take lead responsibility for designing scalable mobile architectures, defining code standards, and maintaining high-quality codebases. Key responsibilities include: - Building intuitive, elegant, and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs - Leading the full lifecycle of product features from ideation and technical design through implementation, testing, and release - Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions - Championing mobile development standards and code review processes that ensure high quality, scalability, and maintainability - Mentoring other developers and helping elevate team standards and collaboration You will work at the intersection of traditional finance and web3, collaborating with client engineers, backend developers, product designers, and external blockchain partners to deliver secure technical integrations. The role is based in Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Required qualifications: - 5+ years of professional experience developing Android applications - Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns like MVVM - Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room - Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused perspective - Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions
