Robinhood is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Wallet team, which is building secure, intuitive, and decentralized products that enable users to custody and manage digital assets. The team works at the intersection of traditional finance and web3, leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain to democratize access to financial services worldwide.
In this role, you will build and own new product features for the Robinhood Wallet Android app, developing reliable and secure solutions for a high-quality trading experience with cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, and perpetual futures. You'll take lead responsibility for designing scalable mobile architectures, defining code standards, and maintaining high-quality codebases. Key responsibilities include:
- Building intuitive, elegant, and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs
- Leading the full lifecycle of product features from ideation and technical design through implementation, testing, and release
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions
- Championing mobile development standards and code review processes that ensure high quality, scalability, and maintainability
- Mentoring other developers and helping elevate team standards and collaboration
You'll work closely with client engineers, backend developers, product designers, and external blockchain partners to deliver secure technical integrations. The role requires 5+ years of professional Android development experience, proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns (MVVM), experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries like Retrofit and Room. You should demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused perspective, and a proven ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.
This is a hybrid role based in the Toronto office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Robinhood values in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
