Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Algorithms and Simulation Software Engineer to join its Software Engineering team in Devens, MA. The company is the world's largest and leading fusion energy company, having raised $4 billion since 2018 to develop commercially viable fusion power plants.
In this role, you will design and implement state estimation and control algorithms, as well as the models and simulation frameworks necessary to verify those algorithms. Your work will directly support critical real-time applications in the SPARC project and related initiatives.
As a hands-on technical contributor, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing advanced algorithms for state estimation and control systems
- Developing production-ready code for mission-critical real-time systems
- Collecting functional requirements from customers and translating them into software solutions
- Integrating your software into software testbeds, hardware testbeds, and production tools
- Collaborating with a variety of engineers across the organization
- Contributing to the broader software ecosystem to improve tooling and processes company-wide
