ICEYE is seeking a Senior AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test) Engineer for Electronics to serve as the integration readiness authority for all electronics and power-related subsystems in ICEYE's satellite constellation. This is a permanent hybrid role based in Espoo, Finland, reporting to the AIT Engineering Team Manager within the Global Manufacturing Organisation.
You will own the discipline from early design review through Production Readiness Review (PRR), production support, and system verification, ensuring that the entire electronics chain is manufacturable, testable, and takt-compatible at scale. This is not a production execution role—you are the engineer who ensures production can execute by owning integration logic, procedures, technical escalation paths, and feedback loops back to Engineering. You will work in a "2-in-a-box" model with subsystem designers, where they own the design and you own how it integrates.
Key responsibilities include: owning integration readiness for electronics and power subsystems (power management, power conditioning and distribution, battery systems, solar panels, watchdog and contactor systems, electrical interfaces, and power firmware); acting as the satellite-wide electronics expert for both engineering and production; partnering with Engineering subsystem owners to co-own PRR packages and assess manufacturability of design changes; developing and maintaining procedures, flows, and troubleshooting guides; owning Tier-2 technical support for electronics-related non-conformances and integration anomalies; participating in Engineering projects to translate lessons learned into production-ready documentation; training and mentoring production technicians; and driving subsystem manufacturing readiness level (MRL) maturity.
Required qualifications: degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or closely related discipline; 6+ years of hands-on experience in electronics integration, assembly, or test engineering in hardware-intensive environments; strong understanding of power electronics including power distribution architectures, battery management systems, solar power conditioning, and electrical boot sequences; demonstrated experience owning a subsystem or discipline end-to-end from design review through integration and verification; proficiency with electronics lab equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, protocol analysers); ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ICDs, and system-level documentation; experience identifying and resolving electronics integration anomalies under time pressure; and excellent English communication skills across engineering and production audiences.
Nice-to-have qualifications include: experience in spacecraft, aerospace, defence, or high-reliability electronics environments; familiarity with satellite power subsystems or embedded power management firmware; experience writing integration procedures for production at scale; ESD-controlled and cleanroom work experience; Jira or equivalent engineering tracking proficiency; exposure to PRR, PDR/CDR, or equivalent formal engineering gates; knowledge of IPC standards; and Python or scripting experience for test automation.
