Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Air Vehicle Systems Engineer to support production verification and validation (V&V) of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft. This role is part of the systems engineering team and focuses on hardware verification and execution across the full product lifecycle—from design verification testing (DVT) through environmental qualification, production acceptance, and ground & flight test. Key responsibilities include demonstrating that all hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics (TPMs) before fielding, and ensuring that verification activities are planned, executed, and documented in accordance with the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). The engineer will develop verification cross-reference matrices (VCRMs), test plans, and verification evidence packages; interpret qualification test reports and supplier technical data; and manage requirements traceability from system-level requirements to component-level verification evidence. Required qualifications include a B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering field, plus 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, hardware qualification, or test & evaluation in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries. Direct experience supporting environmental qualification testing of electronic or electromechanical hardware (LRUs, avionics, actuators) is essential. Technical knowledge must include working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 (environmental test methods: vibration, shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, salt fog, sand & dust), familiarity with MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-464 (electromagnetic environmental effects), and MIL-STD-704 (aircraft electric power). Understanding of verification methods (Test, Analysis, Demonstration, Inspection), Qualification by Similarity (QBS) methodology, and the systems engineering V-model is required. Proficiency with requirements management tools (Jama, DOORS, Polarion) and Microsoft Office is mandatory. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years in hardware qualification, experience with DO-160 (RTCA environmental test standard), MIL-HDBK-310, hands-on environmental testing direction, AS9100 quality management systems, and prior work on UAS or tactical aircraft platforms.
