Forter is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join its AI Engineering team, which serves as the focal point for AI initiatives across the organization. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining reusable AI capabilities—including models, tools, APIs, and platforms—that power both internal and customer-facing solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining an internal MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that securely exposes Forter's data stores to AI agents, creating robust evaluation frameworks and AI guardrails to ensure model reliability and safety, and building and optimizing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems. You will take full ownership of projects from requirements gathering with non-technical internal users through development, deployment, and operation. The role also involves acting as a consultant and advocate for AI engineering practices, helping other teams leverage the platforms and tools you build, and partnering across Forter to accelerate AI adoption and productization efforts.
You will establish deep expertise in sustainable AI engineering practices and promote AI readiness across the company. Required qualifications include 5+ years of strong backend and server-side development experience building complex, highly scalable systems, proven experience with at least one general-purpose language (preferably Python), and strong product management skills for gathering and refining requirements from non-technical users. You should have a strong sense of ownership with some DevOps experience, solid understanding of GenAI, LLMs, and foundation models, strong familiarity with AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar), and hands-on experience building AI-driven workflows, agentic frameworks, evaluations, RAGs, MCPs, and related technologies.
