F5 Digital is executing an enterprise-scale Agentic AI transformation and seeks a Senior AI Software Development Engineer to lead the implementation and optimization of high-code agent development frameworks and enterprise AI integrations. This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on building scalable agentic systems with robust engineering standards.
Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing enterprise-grade agent orchestration frameworks supporting tool use, memory, RAG, and workflow automation. You will integrate Gemini models via Vertex AI, ensuring secure and scalable API consumption, and develop internal SDKs and abstractions to standardize Gemini usage across F5 teams. The role involves developing reference implementations and reusable libraries for high-code agents in Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript, with secure integration patterns for enterprise systems like Salesforce, Snowflake, SharePoint, and ServiceNow.
You will build observability, safety, and governance infrastructure including logging, tracing, and evaluation pipelines for agent performance. This includes implementing safety guardrails such as input/output validation, hallucination mitigation, and prompt injection defenses. You'll guide engineering teams in adopting Gemini Code Assist and internal AI development platforms, creating technical documentation and code samples.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong distributed systems and backend architecture expertise. Deep hands-on coding proficiency in Python and at least one of Go, Java, or TypeScript is required. Production experience with LLM-based systems, including prompt engineering, tool calling, RAG, embeddings, and agent frameworks is essential. Experience with Vertex AI, Gemini APIs, or similar enterprise AI platforms is required. Strong understanding of API design, microservices, cloud-native architectures (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) is necessary. Familiarity with vector databases, embedding pipelines, authentication, authorization, and enterprise security patterns is expected.
Success in this role means delivering a secure, scalable orchestration layer for enterprise agents, enabling engineering teams to build production-grade agents with clean components, and maintaining robust observability and safety controls. You will directly impact how F5 scales agentic AI across the organization.
