aPriori Technologies is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its Belfast-based Data & AI Platform Team. You will design and implement production-grade AI/ML solutions that leverage both generative AI with large language models (LLMs) and traditional machine learning approaches. Working closely with Product Management and product teams, you will integrate AI capabilities into aPriori's products, enabling AI-powered insights, automation, and new user experiences.
Key responsibilities include designing and building production-ready AI/ML systems with emphasis on LLM-powered product features; leveraging LLM tooling and APIs such as LangChain and MCP connectors to implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), copilot assistants, and agentic workflows; partnering with Product Management to translate requirements into AI-powered capabilities; applying MLOps and LLMOps best practices including monitoring, evaluation, prompt versioning, and cost/performance optimization; combining traditional AI/ML with modern GenAI approaches; collaborating with Data Engineers to establish scalable data pipelines; and mentoring peers in AI/ML and LLMOps practices.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (3+ in traditional AI/ML, 1+ in LLM applications on standard models); hands-on familiarity with prompt engineering using LLM frameworks like LangChain; strong Python programming skills and familiarity with modern data/ML pipelines; solid understanding of data engineering practices (ETL/ELT, streaming, orchestration with Airflow/Temporal, dbt, Kafka); knowledge of LLMOps/MLOps practices including CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, drift detection, and evaluation metrics; demonstrated ability to mentor engineers; skilled in designing, building, deploying, and operating LLM-powered features in production (chatbots, copilots, RAG systems, agents); proficiency with cloud AI/ML platforms such as Amazon SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML; and familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
