Divergent 3D is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between design/manufacturing engineering and production teams. This hands-on role focuses on developing scalable, high-reliability automated machining, assembly, anodize, inspection, and cleaning processes for aerospace and defense programs.
You will own daily production execution, working directly with the production floor to resolve issues and ensure steady throughput. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing best practices, processes, and calibration procedures to improve operational capacity; monitoring WIP flow and utilization; and acting as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting production issues.
On the technical side, you'll lead development and continuous improvement of machining, automated assembly, and inspection work centers. You'll collaborate on CNC programming (3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis mills) using Siemens NX CAM software, provide feedback leveraging GD&T and tooling expertise, and introduce standardized programming conventions to improve consistency and reduce cycle time.
Process development is central to the role. You'll help integrate new machines and equipment into production, co-drive design-for-manufacturing conversations to improve part manufacturability, develop innovative fixturing strategies for complex additive-manufactured geometries, and support integration of automated machining technologies.
You'll also drive continuous improvement by analyzing production data to identify trends and inefficiencies, creating detailed documentation for consistency across shifts, and collaborating with software and data teams to integrate metrics into real-time dashboards.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience); 8+ years in aerospace or defense industries; hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing, robotics, coatings, and inspection/quality; direct experience with machining, additive manufacturing, coatings, and inspection/quality; ability to lawfully access US export-controlled information and technology.
