Neros Technologies is a defense technology company designing and manufacturing high-performance unmanned systems (drones) tested in combat and built at scale. The company operates with a fast, hands-on culture focused on closing the gap between design and deployment.
In this Senior Accountant role, you will own critical financial operations as the company scales. Your responsibilities include:
• Month-end close ownership: journal entries, accruals, reserves, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis, delivering accurate financial statements on an accelerating close calendar
• Full-cycle AP/AR management: vendor invoice coding and approvals, customer invoicing, cash application, account reconciliation, and monitoring against aging and cash targets
• External audit support: prepare schedules, technical documentation, and serve as primary auditor contact
• SOX compliance preparation: build and document repeatable processes and internal controls, including control narratives, evidence retention, and segregation-of-duties design
• Process improvement and automation: drive efficiency across close and transactional cycles to decouple headcount growth from revenue growth
• Cross-functional collaboration: partner with FP&A, Operations, and Supply Chain on special projects, systems work, and ad hoc analysis
This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and influence over financial infrastructure at a high-growth defense company.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 4–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting (audit) at a Big 4 firm
• CPA license or CPA-eligible and actively pursuing certification
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Industry experience at a high-growth private company that scaled revenue materially, or a small-cap/recently public company (evidence of building accounting infrastructure, not inheriting mature systems)
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated ownership of end-to-end month-end close cycles
• Hands-on experience with mid-market or enterprise ERP (NetSuite strongly preferred; Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar acceptable) plus advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, comfort with large transaction-level data sets)
• Exposure to SOX and internal controls over financial reporting (through audit engagements or in-house implementation)
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to executives, cross-functional peers, and external auditors
• High attention to detail, sound judgment on materiality, and comfort operating with ambiguity in fast-changing environment
NICE TO HAVE:
• Direct involvement in IPO readiness or S-1 process (technical memos, PCAOB-standard audits, public-company reporting infrastructure)
• Inventory and cost accounting experience in hardware, manufacturing, or physical-product business
• Experience implementing/migrating ERP or standing up automation across close and transactional processes
