Eon Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to strengthen monthly close, balance-sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, and payroll accounting processes in a growing environment. This role is ideal for an accountant comfortable working across general ledger and operational accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Vendor Accounting: Support end-to-end AP processing including invoice intake, coding, approval support, entry, and payment preparation. Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation. Reconcile AP-related balances and support period-end cutoff procedures. Assist with credit-card and employee-expense accounting. Use Sage Intacct, BILL, and Expensify in accordance with company procedures and internal controls.
Payroll Accounting: Support biweekly and ad hoc payroll processing and related accounting activities. Prepare or support payroll journal entries, accrued payroll, and payroll liability reconciliations. Validate payroll-related balances and investigate differences. Serve as cross-trained backup for payroll processes to reduce single-person dependency.
Cash & Treasury Accounting: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate unmatched or unusual cash activity. Support cash reporting and treasury accounting. Help ensure cash, AP, and credit-card activity is reconciled early in the monthly close cycle.
General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare and post routine monthly journal entries with clear supporting documentation. Support the monthly close calendar and complete assigned activities within established deadlines. Prepare supporting schedules for balance-sheet and income-statement accounts. Support the Controller and Accounting Manager in moving toward a formal preparer/reviewer model.
Balance-Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued expenses. Identify reconciling items, research differences, and drive items to resolution. Maintain clear support for account purpose, activity, and outstanding items. Escalate material or unusual matters appropriately.
Controls, Audit & Diligence Support: Follow documented accounting playbooks and segregation-of-duties controls. Maintain audit-ready support for journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules. Prepare routine PBC schedules and supporting documentation for external audit, financial review, tax, and diligence requests. Identify control or process gaps and recommend improvements.
Requirements:

- 5+ years of progressive experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and monthly closing
- Good oral and written communication skills and strong organization skills
- Advanced to expert level spreadsheet proficiency
