Charles IT is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Middletown, Connecticut. This role oversees daily accounting operations, ensures financial accuracy, and supports company-wide decision-making through strong financial controls and GAAP compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Posting daily financial transactions (payables and receivables) timely and accurately
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations
- Managing AP/AR functions and processing payroll
- Maintaining general ledger accounts with accuracy and completeness
- Performing detailed reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Leading the month-end close process
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial reviews
- Continuously evaluating and improving accounting processes and internal controls
The role is hybrid-eligible after a 60-day onboarding period. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Extensive hands-on Excel experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearly
- High integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
- Proven ability to manage complex financial tasks and interpret financial data
- Ability to pass a background check
- Sage Intacct experience preferred
- CPA certification preferred
