Docker is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive sales of commercial Docker products to mid-market and enterprise customers in the Central region. You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and qualification through closing—while managing strategic customer relationships and identifying expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
Docker is a globally distributed, remote-first company trusted by over 20 million monthly users. The platform provides containerization, image management, and secure infrastructure that developers and engineering teams rely on to build, share, and run applications. As AI agents reshape software development, Docker is positioned at the center of that transformation.
In this role, you will:
- Prospect and qualify inbound inquiries to generate sourced qualified opportunities
- Meet with prospects and customers to identify expansion opportunities and drive adoption of Docker's commercial offerings
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and accurately forecast pipeline
- Lead discovery and closing calls, structuring conversations to drive value
- Maintain active engagement with high-propensity accounts based on usage patterns
- Partner with cross-functional teams to share customer feedback and inform product strategy
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Your first 30 days will focus on onboarding, learning Docker's products and sales tools (Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Outreach), and beginning core prospecting and qualification activities alongside your manager and peers. By day 60, you'll be managing your territory independently, building target account lists, and closing your first deals. By day 90, you'll be operating at full speed with multiple transactions under your belt.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of sales experience selling to mid-market and/or enterprise customers; preference for technical products sold to developer and engineering personas
- Demonstrated track record of sales success
- Experience with technical products or proven ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts
- Proficiency in all aspects of B2B technology sales: pre-call planning, opportunity qualification, objection handling, closing
- Ability to structure, control, and lead sales calls
- High integrity, team-first mentality, positive phone skills, excellent listening and writing skills
- Sales training and Salesforce experience a plus
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with Open Source Software business models preferred but not required
Note: Docker does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
