Polimorphic is building an AI-powered operating system for how government agencies serve their citizens. Deployed across 100+ government agencies nationwide, the platform transforms how counties, cities, and state organizations deliver services to millions of residents. The company is backed by top investors including General Catalyst, M13, Shine, and Pear.
As a Senior Account Executive, you will own a sales territory and build a pipeline from scratch, prospecting relentlessly into state and local government accounts. You will manage the full sales cycle from first conversation through contract signature, qualifying hard and driving deals to close. This is not a quota-carrying seat running someone else's playbook—you are the tip of the spear in your territory.
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing a strategic sales plan for your region; prospecting through research, networking, outbound campaigns, and creative outreach; building a real pipeline with 4x coverage; managing complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes; constructing quantitative business cases tailored to each buyer's world (budgets, pain points, political dynamics); delivering sharp, customized product presentations; negotiating and closing deals that drive profitable growth; providing accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports with radical transparency; feeding market intelligence back into the organization to shape product roadmap and competitive positioning; collaborating with marketing on region-specific campaigns and representing Polimorphic at industry events; and contributing to building the go-to-market playbook in real-time.
You will be comfortable operating in ambiguity, challenging myths about government sales, and thinking like a business owner. You bring energy, urgency, and creative problem-solving to every deal. You treat objections as information to reframe and move deals forward. You operate with the intensity of someone building their own business, with end-of-quarter urgency embedded in how you work every day.
The role reports to the Director of Sales and requires travel throughout your region (likely 20–30%).
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software sales with a proven, consistent track record of exceeding targets (specific quota, closed deals, and personal contribution required)
- Demonstrated success selling complex, consultative solutions with multi-stakeholder buying processes; enterprise experience strongly preferred
- First-principles thinker who builds business cases and constructs quantitative ROI arguments
- Comfort prospecting and building pipelines from scratch
- Self-motivated, proactive, requires no micromanagement
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; credible in boardrooms and authentic one-on-one
- Ability to travel throughout region as needed (20–30%)
- Entrepreneurial, creative, "can do" spirit; energized by building, not maintaining
**Strongly Preferred:**
- Experience at a venture-backed, high-growth startup (Series A through C)
- Experience selling platform or multi-product solutions, including land-and-expand and upsell motions
- Private sector sales background with hunger and intensity of someone who has carried a bag and built a book of business
- Government sales experience is a bonus, not a requirement; mindset valued over Rolodex
- Comfort operating across industries and pivoting into new verticals; ability to learn fast and adapt
- Genuine orientation toward impact; motivated by changing real lives, not just hitting numbers
- Agentic AI experience is a plus
