Vega is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup building an AI-native platform for security operations centers (SOCs). The company is redefining security analytics and operations for some of the world's largest organizations, with headquarters in New York and Tel Aviv.
As a Security Researcher in R&D, you will operate at the intersection of security research, AI, and product development. This is not a traditional isolated research role—you'll be deeply embedded in platform development, working closely with R&D, Product, and AI teams to ensure security expertise is integrated throughout the product.
Key responsibilities include:
• Research and develop sophisticated detections and behavioral analytics across multiple security domains: cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and applications, with emphasis on scalable coverage across diverse customer environments.
• Serve as the security authority within cross-functional teams, reviewing features, shaping product designs, and validating that security logic is sound, practical, and impactful.
• Apply AI-native approaches to detection and analytics challenges, leveraging large language models, machine learning signals, and AI-assisted workflows to solve problems beyond the scope of rule-based systems.
• Identify gaps in detection coverage and analytical capabilities, translating findings directly into the product roadmap.
• Analyze real-world attacker techniques and translate them into detection logic, hunting content, and analytical frameworks that ship as core platform features.
• Evaluate detection quality rigorously, measuring fidelity, coverage, and performance against real attacker behavior and production telemetry.
• Monitor the evolving threat landscape and rapidly incorporate new techniques, campaigns, and attacker tooling into the detection library.
• Contribute to external research output—blog posts, conference talks, and open-source tooling—that demonstrates depth and thought leadership in the security community.
