Salary: USD 150,000 - 250,000 / annual

Cylake is building next-generation cybersecurity products and seeks a Security Researcher to architect and develop advanced threat detection capabilities for their security operations platform. You will serve as a subject matter expert in cyber attack and defense, designing end-to-end detection coverage that leverages deep understanding of the evolving threat landscape. Key responsibilities include developing advanced threat detection capabilities, researching emerging threats and adversary tactics to implement sophisticated attack detection, building research systems for threat analysis and APT simulation, and partnering with data scientists to develop AI workflows and security-focused models. You will work with a small, world-class team led by industry veterans to shape the future of threat detection. Required qualifications: 5+ years building large-scale threat analysis and detection solutions (security logs, malware, network traffic, web exploitation) or a Ph.D. in Computer Science/System/Network Security. Deep expertise in threat hunting, malware analysis, vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, offensive security, or penetration testing. Strong understanding of modern attacks, evasion techniques, malware behaviors, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and cyber kill chains. Proficiency in Python; C/C++/Rust/Go a plus. Preferred: CTF competition participation, open-source security contributions, CVE disclosures, SOC/detection engineer/red team/blue team experience in enterprise environments, knowledge of OS internals and security products (EDR/XDR, SOC platforms, IDS/IPS), cyber threat intelligence expertise, and ML/LLM/agentic AI experience for security detection.
