The company provides unified security solutions covering SAST, SCA, DAST, and emerging technologies to help organizations secure human- and AI-generated code throughout the development lifecycle.
The Security Researcher role is a senior individual contributor position within the Security Research team. You will own research initiatives across application security, AI security, and emerging technologies, working autonomously on complex security problems. Your primary focus will be analyzing how vulnerabilities manifest across different programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, then translating that expertise into concrete improvements to Checkmarx's application security testing (AST) products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research security aspects of multiple programming languages, frameworks, and emerging technologies with depth and autonomy
- Perform secure code reviews and analyze results from Checkmarx's AST solutions to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Analyze code containing a wide range of vulnerabilities across multiple languages and frameworks
- Devise and propose improvements grounded in application security expertise to enhance SAST, SCA, DAST, and other AST solutions
- Design, refine, and validate detection logic and rules that power the company's security products
- Support developers and stakeholders on application security topics
- Share knowledge across the team through documentation, peer code reviews, and mentoring of less-experienced researchers
This role emphasizes research-led innovation and a developer-first mindset. You will work with a team of security experts to raise the technical bar of security research and help enterprises build risk-free software by design.
