Cyera is hiring a Security Operations Team Lead to lead a team of Security Operations Engineers and serve as incident commander for major incidents. This is a player-coach role combining team leadership with hands-on technical work.
You will own the day-to-day health and improvement of Cyera's agentic SOC (Security Operations Center), where AI-assisted security agents handle first-pass triage, investigation, and response. You'll also run the customer zero program, operating the Cyera platform on the company's own environment and feeding learnings back to Product.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing the Security Operations team; setting priorities, running operational cadence, and building career paths
- Directing response to major incidents, making containment decisions, managing stakeholder communication, and owning after-action processes
- Owning metrics, roadmap, and improvement priorities for the agentic SOC
- Managing the fleet of security agents: defining guardrails, human approval points, evaluating accuracy, maintaining audit trails, and reporting impact on autonomous handling and analyst capacity
- Owning posture goals, remediation governance, product feedback loops, and reporting for internal Cyera deployment
- Setting detection and response priorities with the Security Engineering lead based on threat model and coverage
- Designing and running on-call and coverage arrangements, including external or follow-the-sun support
- Taking on the hardest investigations, building detections and playbooks, and writing code using AI-assisted workflows
- Representing Security Operations to security leadership and R&D; translating operational data into risk and status
Requirements:
- 5+ years in security operations or incident response
- Senior or lead-level experience required
- Demonstrated ability to run significant incidents end to end
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers
