K Health is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to serve as a foundational force in securing their healthcare technology ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Director of Security, this is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on Security Operations (SecOps) and IT Security projects. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SecOps workflows, threat detection, and incident response procedures across corporate and cloud infrastructure. Key responsibilities include building low-code and custom automations using tools like Torq to streamline security alerts and incident triage; administering and optimizing security tools including Sumo Logic, Jamf, Intune, Slack Enterprise, and CrowdStrike; maintaining continuous compliance with SOC2 and HIPAA security controls; and partnering with cross-functional IT and engineering teams to harden systems and enforce zero-trust endpoint policies. You will conduct root-cause analysis on security incidents and proactively implement preventative measures. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of dedicated hands-on experience in Security Operations, IT Security, or System Administration with a strong security focus. Required skills include proven incident response background in modern cloud/hybrid environments, deep foundational IT knowledge spanning endpoint administration (macOS/Windows), identity management, and network security, demonstrated experience maintaining SOC2 and/or HIPAA controls, and hands-on automation experience using SOAR platforms, scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash), or API integrations. Bonus qualifications include direct experience implementing SOC2 or HIPAA controls from scratch, familiarity with the specific technology stack (Sumo Logic, Jamf, Intune, Slack Enterprise, CrowdStrike, Torq), and relevant industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, GIAC, or vendor-specific platform certifications. K Health is an AI-powered virtual care platform founded in 2016 and headquartered in New York City. The company partners with leading health systems including Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai, and Mass General Brigham to deliver modern primary virtual care clinics. The company is backed by nearly $400 million from leading investors.
