Salary: USD 159,300 - 202,400 / annual
Twitch is seeking a Security Incident Response Engineer to join its Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). Reporting to the SIRT Manager, you will be at the center of identifying, handling, and learning from security incidents across Twitch's global live streaming platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in on-call rotation with SIRT peers to respond to emerging security issues
- Qualifying reports and alerts as security incidents using established guidelines
- Evaluating potential and realized impact of incidents on Twitch and its community
- Analyzing threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- Participating in and creating information-sharing groups with secure, responsible communication
- Writing and maintaining clear, repeatable procedures for accountability and continuous improvement
- Communicating incident timelines, discovery methods, impact, and response plans to peers and leadership
- Coordinating incident response activities with affected teams to protect customers and the organization
- Designing and implementing AI/ML-driven detection, enrichment, triage, response, and communication automations
- Leading lessons-learned discussions and driving organizational change to reduce incident recurrence
You will have flexibility to work from San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; or Seattle, WA.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant information security work experience, or equivalent BS degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Automation experience using scripting or programming languages (Go, Python, Ruby, Shell, or Perl)
- Ability to securely design and implement AI/ML-driven playbooks to automate common security operations
- Experience coordinating responses to security incidents
- Knowledge of security issues and current threat landscape
- Background in cloud, host, network, and application security
- Familiarity with common Incident Response frameworks or lifecycle models (NIST-800-61, ISO/IEC 27035, etc.)
Bonus qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Security, or related technical discipline
- Experience with streaming and content creation platforms
- Experience handling security incidents in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and conducting log analysis on cloud telemetry (CloudTrail)
- Passion for Twitch and its community
