Wiz is seeking a Security Engineer to secure its products and production infrastructure. The role involves leading threat modeling and security reviews across Wiz's cloud and Kubernetes environments, identifying attack surfaces, and developing scalable mitigation strategies. You will build automation, policy-as-code, and security tooling to help development teams shift left and integrate security into their workflows. Key responsibilities include designing secure baselines for cloud resources and Kubernetes infrastructure, driving vulnerability management and remediation efforts across the software supply chain, and extending detection and response capabilities to identify and remediate incidents. You'll partner closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions and influence the product roadmap using Wiz's own platform to assess and harden environments.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of security engineering or security operations experience in cloud environments, with deep expertise in AWS (or equivalent Azure/GCP experience). You should have hands-on experience with cloud-native Kubernetes services (EKS/GKE/AKS), container security, IAM and cloud identity management at scale, and technical security reviews including threat modeling. Practical knowledge of web application security (OWASP Top-10), infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, Pulumi), and automation development in Python, Go, Shell, HCL, or Rego is required.
