Salary: USD 147,250 - 193,750 / annual
Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Security Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive security measures protecting the organization's digital sports platform. Reporting to the Manager of Security Engineering, you will evaluate and optimize security tools including Data Loss Prevention, Vulnerability Management, Identity and Access Management, Web Application Firewall, Email Protection, and Endpoint Protection. You will implement Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) software, develop and maintain automation scripts for threat hunting, detection, and digital forensics, and design security detection mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and observability. Core responsibilities include maintaining a cloud-based SIEM with proper log ingestion and alert tuning, serving as a lead incident responder, and staying current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities. You will conduct security awareness training through internal phishing campaigns, collaborate with internal teams on secure implementation, and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident escalations.
Required qualifications include minimum 5 years as a security engineer or similar role, proficiency in incident response, threat hunting, and AWS cloud security, expertise in purple team operations with offensive and defensive strategy knowledge, and experience with identity management protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect). You must have hands-on experience automating incident response playbooks with SOAR solutions, strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders, proven ability to draft security documentation (standards, policies, architecture diagrams), and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with Cloudflare, Datadog, Wiz, and Tines is preferred. Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible), agile methodologies, and relevant certifications (OSCP, SSCP, GSEC) are valued additions.
