Conduct is building an AI operating system designed to absorb IT complexity for the world's largest enterprises. The company recently closed a $60M+ Series A and is still early enough that individual contributions shape the company's direction.
This Security Engineer role is a hybrid builder-and-operator position. You'll own Conduct's security posture end-to-end: designing and shipping security features that enterprise customers demand (like BYOK per tenant, SSO/SCIM, SIEM-compatible audit logging), managing day-to-day security operations, and driving larger security initiatives as the engineering team scales from 20 to 40+ people.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Design and build security features directly in the codebase alongside product engineers
- Own enterprise security end-to-end: complete customer security questionnaires, work through data handling and contractual requirements, and serve as the technical point of contact for clients' CISOs and security teams
- Monitor and harden the cloud environment, track security recommendations, drive remediation, and make pragmatic risk-acceptance decisions
- Investigate and respond to security alerts across endpoint, cloud, and application stack
- Build out detection and monitoring capabilities, evolve the SIEM with actionable alerting
- Own vulnerability management end-to-end: triage, track, and drive issues to resolution
- Proactively hunt for threats, from unusual environment behavior to emerging supply-chain risks
- Run and refine security scanning across infrastructure, applications, and dependencies

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–7 years in a security engineering role
- Comfortable reading and writing code; you'll be building product features and tooling, not just operating them
- Ideally have shipped security features as a software engineer (e.g., BYOK, SSO/SCIM, audit logging) rather than just configured or audited them
- Hands-on experience with enterprise security requirements, security questionnaires, and customer data-handling agreements
- Confident acting as technical point of contact for developers, CISOs, and clients during security due diligence
- Pragmatic judgment: balance security rigor against startup speed
- Genuine excitement about InfoSec and motivation to keep growing (company is open to less experience if drive and aptitude are clear)
- Experience working with enterprise customers is a plus, not required
