Apiiro is an Agentic AppSec Platform transforming how development teams design, develop, and deliver secure software. The Research team operates as a startup within Apiiro, driving innovation behind the company's AI-native Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) platform. This role sits at the intersection of security research and AI engineering, working directly with leadership to prototype and validate next-generation capabilities.
You will research and prototype novel approaches to application security that go beyond traditional AppSec tooling. Key responsibilities include building proofs-of-concept for advanced prevention, detection, triage, and remediation capabilities; designing experiments and validating new security features through data-driven testing; partnering with product and engineering teams to bring successful POCs into the core platform; and evaluating and optimizing LLM-based agents and model outputs for security use cases.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in security research with expert-level understanding of code security, attack patterns, detection methods, and contextual remediation. You have strong computer science foundations and proven software engineering skills, with demonstrated experience building prototypes and tools from design through implementation. Hands-on experience with LLM-based agents and context engineering is essential, including evaluating and optimizing model outputs. You work comfortably and independently across modern development environments, approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity, and treat challenges as opportunities to learn and innovate.
