Salary: GBP 70,000 - 85,000 / annual
AccuRx is a healthcare productivity platform used by 98% of UK GP practices, serving millions of patients and clinicians daily. The company provides an integrated digital toolkit including Total Triage, Self-Book appointment scheduling, Patient Questionnaires, Accumail staff communication, and Accurx Scribe (an AI-powered medical note-taker). You'll join the Security Engineering & Operations team, responsible for protecting sensitive patient and NHS data across products, cloud infrastructure, and corporate systems.
Key responsibilities include running and reviewing vulnerability scans across the estate, tracking findings to remediation, and maintaining SLA accountability. You'll help harden cloud services against CIS/NIST baselines, providing actionable recommendations. During security incidents, you'll assist with detection, response, and documentation while maintaining incident playbooks. You'll audit user accounts and access across systems to identify stale accounts, weak passwords, and anomalies.
A significant part of this role involves AI safety: reviewing new AI tools and MCP server requests referred by the Privacy team, assessing data exposure and model provenance, and maintaining an inventory of approved AI tooling. You'll apply the company's AI Development Risk Framework to new experiments, ensuring proper controls (data classification, environment isolation, encryption, credential handling) are in place before deployment.
You'll contribute to threat modeling and design reviews, helping teams build security into systems from the start. You'll also educate technical teams on security fundamentals in an approachable, blame-free manner.
