We are seeking a Security Engineer to lead our vulnerability management lifecycle and security operations. This is a hybrid technical and strategic role requiring deep expertise in application security, cloud security operations, and risk management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with development teams on application security vulnerability management, with hands-on involvement in triaging and remediating vulnerabilities in our Clojure-based backend ecosystem
- Configure and monitor cloud security posture using SIEM, SOAR, CSP, and CNAPP tools to detect and respond to threats in real time
- Conduct security reviews and risk assessments on internal architecture, third-party vendors, and APIs
- Maintain corporate workspace security including identity access management, device compliance, and productivity tool security
- Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and establish security frameworks that prevent classes of vulnerabilities
Required Experience:
- 4+ years in software engineering and/or cybersecurity with strong Computer Science or Cyber Security foundation
- Hands-on Clojure coding experience and JVM environment familiarity; ability to read functional code and collaborate on code-level fixes
- Hands-on cloud infrastructure security experience and incident response background
- Baseline certifications such as CompTIA Security+ (CISSP or equivalent advanced credential highly preferred)
- Autonomous, self-motivated approach to problem-solving in dynamic, rapidly scaling environments
- Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to interact with all management levels and external auditors
The role is remote within 23 US states (excluding SF Bay Area, NYC, and Seattle). Ladder does not sponsor or transfer OPT or H1-B visas.
