The company is hiring a Senior SDK Engineer to own core JavaScript and TypeScript SDKs that serve as the primary interface for developers building on Supabase. In this role, you will build and evolve the JS/TS SDKs, which are used by millions of developers and are a major integration point for AI coding tools. Key responsibilities include: - Authoring and maintaining published libraries with public APIs and external consumers - Building new features and identifying gaps in the SDK ecosystem - Triaging inbound issues, reviewing external contributions, and maintaining CI/release automation - Owning the type experience: ensuring generated database types flow correctly through client APIs for accurate autocomplete and inference - Supporting multiple runtimes (Node, Deno, Bun, browsers, Cloudflare Workers, React Native/Expo) with dual ESM/CJS publishing - Working on realtime features including WebSocket connections, reconnection logic, and subscription semantics - Tracking platform changes across auth, realtime, storage, and edge runtime services - Writing RFCs, migration guides, release notes, and public documentation - Designing SDKs to be legible to AI coding agents You should have expert-level TypeScript skills, published library authoring experience, open-source maintenance background, npm packaging fluency, strong testing practices, and excellent written communication. The role requires real autonomy, comfort with ambiguity, and experience in async/distributed teams. Supabase is a fully remote, globally distributed company with ~400 team members across 60+ countries. The company has raised over $1B in funding and operates with an open-source-first philosophy. Benefits include ESOP equity, tech allowance, comprehensive health coverage, annual company off-sites, flexible work arrangements, and professional development budgets.
