Fortanix is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its India team. The role focuses on ensuring platform quality and reliability through comprehensive test automation and quality assurance strategies. Key responsibilities include designing and developing automated test frameworks and scripts using modern tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright. You will collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans with strong coverage. The role involves executing both automated and manual tests, analyzing results, and documenting defects clearly. You'll continuously improve test automation strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. A significant part of the role involves developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI) to integrate automated testing into the development workflow. You'll monitor and analyze test results, identify trends, and drive improvements in product quality. The position includes mentoring and guiding junior team members in test automation best practices and quality assurance methodologies. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of SDET or similar experience. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++ are essential. You should have hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, CI/CD tools, and API testing. Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, Locust) and software testing methodologies (functional, performance, security) is required. Preferred skills include security testing experience, Rust programming language knowledge, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and Agile methodologies. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible is a plus.
