As a Senior Frontend Engineer (SDE-3), you will own the design and architecture of large-scale, enterprise-grade frontend applications built in React and TypeScript. Your responsibilities include building and scaling Certa's design system from the ground up with semantic, accessible HTML at its core; optimizing rendering and delivery performance across frontend applications; and establishing best-in-class frontend tooling and practices around bundling, linting, testing, and releasing.
You will mentor mid-level and junior engineers, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams in a remote-first, Agile environment. You'll use data and analytics to inform product decisions and raise the overall engineering bar across the frontend organization.
Required qualifications include 3+ years building large-scale frontend applications with React and 3+ years with TypeScript; strong expertise in modern frontend tooling (Vite, bundling, linting, testing frameworks like Vitest, Cypress, Jest, Testing Library); experience building and scaling design systems from scratch; a track record mentoring junior and mid-level engineers; and experience working in high-performance tech startups with remote teams.
Bonus skills include experience with event pub/sub models, WebGL, offline applications using Web Workers, custom JavaScript tooling, fully accessible applications (keyboard and screen-reader support), open-source contributions, and technical writing.
