Forge Biologics is seeking a Scientist I in Analytical Development to contribute to the development and qualification of protein-based assays for AAV gene therapy products. You will design and execute assays for characterization and quality control, develop and optimize assay protocols, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure robustness and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include designing protein-based assays for gene therapy product characterization; developing and optimizing protocols using analytical techniques such as AUC, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, and ELISA; analyzing and interpreting complex experimental data; collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate assay results into project goals; participating in assay transfer and validation activities; preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation; staying current with scientific literature and industry advancements; contributing to process improvement and method development initiatives; training and mentoring junior team members; and maintaining high standards of laboratory safety and compliance.
The role is based at The Hearth, Forge's state-of-the-art 200,000-square-foot cGMP facility in Columbus, Ohio. You will work in both laboratory and office environments, with extended periods of standing/sitting, use of personal protective equipment, and work in confined spaces such as clean rooms. The position requires attention to detail, color distinction, and object identification within specific areas.
