Salary: USD 113,000 - 171,000 / annual
NewLimit is a biotechnology company developing medicines to treat aging by reprogramming the epigenome. The company has built leading experimental and AI systems to discover reprogramming medicines at scale, with initial products focused on restoring youthful metabolic, endothelial, and immune function.
As a Scientist on the Delivery Sciences team, you will develop formulations, purification processes, and characterization methods for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug products. NewLimit's reprogramming medicines rely on LNP chemistries to deliver reprogramming payloads to target cells and tissues throughout the body.
Key responsibilities include:
- Formulate, purify, and characterize LNPs for nucleic acid delivery
- Collaborate with Epigenetic Editing and Product teams (Immunology, Metabolism, Vascular) to develop LNP-RNA reprogramming medicines
- Develop and optimize LNP compositions to target new cell types for reprogramming
- Interpret complex experimental data and perform statistical analyses to reach robust conclusions
- Maintain rigorous and detailed records of experimental protocols and results in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience formulating LNPs with diverse lipid components for nucleic acid delivery
- Experience with purification techniques including dialysis, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), ultracentrifugation, and sterile filtration
- Proficiency in LNP analysis using dynamic or multi-angle light scattering, liquid chromatography, and standard molecular biology assays (ELISA, qPCR, spectroscopy)
Nice-to-have qualifications include drug product development experience at preclinical or clinical stages, background in extra-hepatic nucleic acid delivery, experience with bioconjugation or targeted LNP formulation, and proficiency with data visualization and statistical analysis tools (R, Python).
