Prellis Biologics is seeking a Scientist in Cell Biology and Immunology to join their research team developing next-generation immune system technologies for therapeutic discovery. The role focuses on developing and optimizing in vitro immune system platforms, including lymph node organoid-based technologies, and creating functional assays to support antibody discovery. Key responsibilities include designing and executing complex cell-based experiments (60–80% hands-on lab work), isolating and culturing primary human immune cells (B cells, T cells, antigen-presenting cells), and developing multiparameter flow cytometry experiments for immune-cell profiling. The scientist will design and optimize cell-based functional assays for antibody and TCR discovery, develop ELISA and protein-based assays, and contribute to antibody discovery programs using in vitro immune-system technologies. The role requires strong expertise in B and T cell biology, primary immune-cell culture, flow cytometry, and cell-based assay development. The scientist will troubleshoot experimental challenges, improve protocols, analyze data using tools like FlowJo and GraphPad Prism, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including antibody engineering, protein engineering, and bioinformatics specialists. Required qualifications include an M.S. or Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong hands-on experience with primary immune-cell isolation and culture, flow cytometry (panel design, staining, acquisition, analysis), cell-based immune functional assays, and ELISA techniques. Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities. Preferred experience includes B-cell activation and antibody secretion work, antibody discovery or vaccine development background, familiarity with cell-based screening platforms, beads-based cell separation, molecular biology techniques, and protein/sequence bioinformatics knowledge.
