Aktis Oncology is a clinical-stage oncology company developing targeted radiopharmaceuticals for large patient populations. The company's lead program, AKY-1189, is a miniprotein radioconjugate targeting Nectin-4 with potential across multiple tumor types including urothelial, breast, lung, colorectal, cervical, and head and neck cancers. A second program, AKY-2519, targets B7-H3 expressing tumors. Aktis has a strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly to develop novel radioconjugates.
The Scientist role supports manufacturing and QC development of Aktis' proprietary radiopharmaceutical drug products. You will be part of the Radiopharmaceutical Development (RPD) group, focusing on radiolabeling development, formulation optimization, and establishment of analytical methods. This position is critical for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and successful advancement of radiopharmaceutical programs from early development through clinical manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include: conducting radiolabeling and analytical method development for radioactive drug products; participating in day-to-day laboratory operations with attention to radiation safety; writing development reports for technology transfer and regulatory filings; driving scientific rigor and data-driven decision-making; operating and maintaining radio-HPLC systems, detectors, and analytical instruments; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust manufacturing protocols.
Required qualifications: BS in chemistry, engineering, or related field with relevant industry experience; hands-on experience with metal chelation chemistry, radiolabeling methods, and handling radioactive materials; experience analyzing radiolabeled compounds, gamma detectors, UV- and radio-HPLC; familiarity with protein solubility, binding assays, and drug product formulation; HPLC troubleshooting and maintenance skills; strong project management and organizational abilities; and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
