Anduril Industries is seeking a Scientific Software Engineer to join the Air & Missile Defense Radar team in Broomfield or Fort Collins, Colorado. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge tracking algorithms and high-performance software systems that detect, track, and characterize airborne threats in real-time. You will design and implement advanced multi-target tracking algorithms, develop real-time software systems that process radar sensor data for dozens to hundreds of simultaneous targets, and build modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance. The work spans algorithm development, high-performance computing optimization, and integration with end-to-end defense systems. Key responsibilities include: - Design advanced tracking algorithms for novel air and missile threats, including multi-target tracking, track fusion, and discrimination techniques - Develop high-performance, real-time software systems processing massive sensor data streams with millisecond latency requirements - Build and leverage modeling and simulation environments to validate performance and identify improvements - Collaborate with radar engineers and system architects to integrate solutions into production defense systems - Optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments - Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams and customers - Participate in customer demonstrations and field tests Required qualifications: 2+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (or equivalent). Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, solid foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, probability, statistics, differential equations), and understanding of software engineering fundamentals (design patterns, testing, version control, debugging).
