Anduril Industries is seeking a Scientific Software Engineer to join the Air & Missile Defense Radar team in Broomfield or Fort Collins, Colorado. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge tracking algorithms and real-time software systems that detect, track, and characterize airborne threats. You will design and implement advanced multi-target tracking algorithms, develop high-performance distributed systems that process massive sensor data streams in milliseconds, and build modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance. The work spans algorithm development, real-time software optimization, and integration with end-to-end defense systems. You'll collaborate directly with radar engineers and system architects, optimize software for performance-critical environments, and communicate technical concepts to cross-functional teams and customers. The role includes participation in customer demonstrations and field tests to ensure successful deployment. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) plus 2 years of relevant experience. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python are essential, along with a solid foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, probability, statistics, differential equations) and software engineering fundamentals (design patterns, testing, version control, debugging). This is a production-focused role where deployed systems directly support mission-critical military operations.
