CuspAI is a frontier AI company developing computational tools to accelerate materials science discovery. The company uses AI to unlock breakthrough materials for energy, semiconductors, carbon capture, and clean water—solving problems that would otherwise take decades.
As Scientific Developer Relations Manager, you will be the primary technical and scientific liaison between CuspAI's AI platform and its enterprise and research partners. You'll work closely with the Foundry Partnerships Manager to engage computational chemists, materials scientists, and technical leaders at partner organizations, translating their complex materials challenges into actionable platform solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Scientific Advisory & Partner Engagement**: Serve as the expert technical point of contact for partner organizations. Provide peer-level scientific guidance on leveraging CuspAI's platform to solve materials challenges (e.g., semiconductor performance, carbon capture efficiency, energy storage). Lead deep-dive technical workshops, code-alongs, and scientific demonstrations for expert external audiences.
**Technical Enablement & Content Creation**: Build scalable developer resources including technical documentation, sample notebooks, APIs, and reference guides tailored to advanced materials science workflows. Bridge community events with hands-on technical support for partner Discovery Sprints.
**Cross-Functional Feedback Loop**: Collaborate with AI Research, Computational Chemistry, and Product teams to channel partner feedback into platform development priorities. Partner with Marketing and PR to co-author case studies, whitepapers, and technical blog posts on materials breakthroughs achieved via the platform.
You must have a strong academic background or equivalent professional experience in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Electrical Engineering. Hands-on experience with computational chemistry tools (ASE, RDKit), molecular simulation software, or Python-based data science workflows (PyTorch) is essential. A proven track record in developer relations, technical partner engineering, or application science—ideally in high-growth startups or deep-tech environments—is required. You must be a confident technical communicator who can translate abstract scientific concepts and complex AI workflows into clear, actionable advice.
Bonus qualifications include experience managing developer or research ecosystem programs with major hardware tech companies, background in semiconductor foundries or electronics materials suppliers, fluency in Japanese, Korean, or German, and understanding of crystallography and advanced ML models for property prediction.
Based in London with flexibility to work from Cambridge, Amsterdam, or Berlin offices. Expectation of three days per week in-office with regular travel for collaboration and project work.
