Salary: USD 111,000 - 147,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a SCADA Controls Engineer to join the Automation team at Arsenal-1, an advanced manufacturing facility in Columbus, OH. You will own the SCADA layer that production depends on, from PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant floor visibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for production equipment
- Write and debug Siemens PLC code (Ladder and Structured Text) with emphasis on organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable code for high-volume manufacturing
- Follow internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs
- Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
- Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures to ensure rapid resolution and long-term reliability
- Install, configure, and tune servo drives and VFDs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
- Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)
- Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
- Strong knowledge of ethernet-based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP)
- Proficient with electrical component selection and solid foundation of wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets
- Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, and historian)
- Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design
- Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design
- Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices
- Active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
- Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing
- Electrical troubleshooting up to 600VAC
- Active U.S. Government TOP SECRET security clearance
