Salary: USD 123,000 - 171,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a SCADA Controls Engineer to join the Manufacturing Automation team's Ignition Development group. The Manufacturing Automation team designs, integrates, and deploys automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories at national scale. In this role, you will design functional HMIs and SCADA screens aligned with Anduril's internal branding standards using Ignition by Inductive Automation. You will architect SCADA applications that are organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable for high-volume manufacturing environments. Key responsibilities include generating and enforcing internal standards for SCADA systems, integrating internal and external manufacturing software into automation equipment and production lines, and leading root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures to ensure rapid resolution and long-term reliability. You will partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot SCADA issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires willingness to work off-shift or irregular hours as needed for manufacturing operations. REQUIREMENTS: - Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities - Must be eligible for U.S. security clearance - Proficiency in Ignition by Inductive Automation (required) - Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with relevant experience - 2+ years of experience in SCADA and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) applications - Strong understanding of communications protocols: REST API, MQTT, AMQP, OPC UA, Modbus, BACnet PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Knowledge and understanding of PLC-based control systems - Ignition Gold Certification - Proficiency in higher-level languages such as Python and HTML
