Xona Space Systems is seeking a Satellite Harness Engineer to design and build harnesses and cables for the Pulsar satellite constellation—a next-generation positioning and navigation infrastructure in low Earth orbit. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you will own the complete harness design lifecycle, from initial design and cable routing through manufacturing coordination and testing.
You will collaborate closely with avionics, mechanical, GNC (guidance, navigation, and control), and manufacturing teams to create detailed harness drawings and specifications. Your responsibilities include interpreting PCBA schematics and technical drawings, selecting components and processes that ensure reliability across the satellite's mission life, and coordinating builds with contract manufacturers while managing program schedules.
You will design and build test harnesses to support various validation activities including DVT (design verification testing), environmental testing, and subsystem-level debugging. You'll develop and maintain work instructions, connector mate logs, and test logs, and support hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis when issues arise.
Required qualifications include a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience), 2+ years of electrical harness design experience, ability to read PCBA schematics and technical drawings, hands-on experience with harness test equipment (multimeters, Hipot testers), and ability to build test fixtures. Desired qualifications include spaceflight hardware experience, exposure to spacecraft environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling), cleanroom experience, and familiarity with aerospace documentation standards and configuration control.
