Metaview is an AI-powered recruiting platform that builds AI agents to help companies hire faster and more precisely. Founded by alumni from Uber and Palantir, the company has raised over $50M (Series B led by Google Ventures) and is growing 5x year-over-year with customers including Brex, Affirm, Deel, ElevenLabs, and Airtable.
You will be Metaview's first dedicated SMB Sales Manager in San Francisco, reporting to the VP of Sales. This is a foundational role: you'll own all aspects of building the SMB sales segment from the ground up—people, performance, and playbook. You are not inheriting a finished system; instead, you'll partner with sales leadership to architect the coaching, reporting, and operating structures that enable a high-agency AE team to scale its land-and-expand motion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own SMB performance, quota, and forecast accuracy in San Francisco
- Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a growing team of quota-carrying SMB Account Executives, partnering with Recruiting to fill open roles
- Build the SMB qualification framework, discovery standards, and stage gates from scratch, creating a repeatable process for fast-cycle deals
- Establish pipeline reviews, reporting, forecasting, and weekly deal-review cadence to run the team effectively
- Coach reps on live deals to improve conversion and consistency, focusing on both land and expansion motions
- Partner with sales enablement and product marketing to translate training and competitive positioning into consistent execution
The company operates on four core principles: Velocity (optimize for learning and feedback), Hospitality (delight customers and colleagues), Transparency (share context openly), and End-to-End (deliver outcomes, not just tasks).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience leading a high-performing B2B sales team; depth of experience matters less than evidence of exceptional leadership
- Track record of delivering against sales quota in a high-velocity motion and helping teams do the same
- Builder's mindset with experience creating a qualification framework or sales process (not just inheriting one)
- Strong, direct coaching and talent-development skills with ability to raise performance bar across high volumes of deals
- Systems thinking: ability to turn growth goals into useful pipeline standards, forecasting, and team rhythms without slowing reps down
- Customer-facing judgment and understanding of seats-based expansion to help reps land and grow accounts
- High agency and high standards, with comfort building a new segment playbook alongside your team
