Nox Metals is a Detroit-based technology company supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. The company uses software and automation to accelerate metal delivery beyond industry standards.
In this Inside Sales role, you will own the complete RFQ-to-shipment pipeline. Your core responsibilities include:
- Managing inbound RFQs and quoting end-to-end: estimate jobs in WAYNE, run nests, validate scrap, and convert drawings, specs, and POs into clean production jobs in NOX NEST
- Pushing orders into production with precision: ensuring alloy, temper, thickness, tolerances, certifications, ship dates, and packaging are all correct
- Coordinating with scheduling to commit realistic dates and deliver on them consistently
- Owning the customer relationship within the company: handling quotes, follow-ups, confirmations, and status updates
- Identifying and resolving issues before they escalate (missing specs, PO mismatches, conflicting cert requirements)
- Collaborating with quality, supply chain, and shipping teams on every order from open to delivered
- Supporting Outside Sales by ensuring smooth order execution
- Logging all quotes and outcomes in the CRM
- Asking clarifying questions, taking ownership, and continuously improving processes
This is a full-time, in-person role based in Ferndale, MI.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in inside sales, quoting, estimating, or customer service in metals, machine shops, or industrial manufacturing
- Technical fluency: ability to read engineering drawings and discuss alloys, tempers, tolerances, and lead times
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; comfort with spreadsheets, quoting tools, and AI tools
- Organizational capability to manage dozens of concurrent quotes without losing track
- Precision under pressure and genuine customer focus
- Team-oriented mindset with ownership mentality; safety-conscious; willing to take on any necessary task
NICE TO HAVE:
- Background in metals or aerospace quoting
- Experience with WAYNE-style nesting tools
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) reading ability
- Familiarity with AS9100, DFARS, AMS, or ASTM standards
- Forklift or crane certification
