As a Sales Engineer, you will own the technical side of the sales cycle, paired with Account Executives. You will deeply understand prospects' use cases, demonstrate Trek's capabilities with their own data, and prove ROI. Your responsibilities include:
• Conduct technical discovery with prospects to uncover use cases, workflows, data landscapes, and success criteria, translating findings into winning technical strategies
• Deliver tailored demos that map directly to client needs and present to large groups of executives
• Scope, build, and deliver technical proofs of concept using the prospect's own entities, use cases, and data
• Validate client data to ensure accuracy before contract closure
• Build ROI and business-case models that quantify Trek's impact and support internal champion selling
• Configure AI agents, author skill files, and build custom client use cases using modern LLMs and frameworks
• Feed field insights back to product, marketing, and leadership to refine the platform and pitch
You will work at a startup pace, juggling multiple active deals and POCs with significant ownership and autonomy.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven experience in a client-facing, consultative, persuasive capacity (sales engineering, management consulting, banking, strategy & ops, or similar)
• Strong ability to read people and organizations, understand unstated client needs, sense deal momentum, and adapt in real time
• Deep analytical skills and fluency with data; ability to find trends and patterns in messy datasets and drive decisions from them
• Hands-on experience configuring AI agents and building AI skills with modern LLMs; demonstrated comfort trying new models
• Strong communication skills across technical and business audiences; ability to explain technical concepts to analysts and business cases to CFOs
• Self-directed with comfort for ownership and ambiguity in a startup environment
NICE TO HAVE:
• Experience in healthcare (revenue cycle management, payer contracting, price transparency, claims data, or health-tech)
• Prior sales engineering, solutions consulting, or technical pre-sales experience at a data or SaaS company
• Comfort with SQL, Python, or similar tools for working with data at scale
• Bay Area location (some travel to customers and industry events expected)
