Trebellar is an AI-native platform for corporate real estate that helps enterprise CRE teams replace fragmented spreadsheets with a unified decision-making system. The company is backed by Blossom Capital and early-stage investors.
You will be Trebellar's first dedicated Sales Engineer, serving as the technical backbone of the sales organization. This is a ground-up role to build the SE function from scratch, not execute an established playbook.
Key responsibilities include:
**Sales Cycle & Technical Ownership**: Partner with Account Executives on enterprise deals from discovery through close. Own the technical evaluation process, leading conversations with IT, data, and security stakeholders. Manage third-party risk assessments, infosec questionnaires, and vendor security reviews end-to-end. Track customer requirements and pre-sales feature requests in partnership with Customer Success and Product. Build and manage a clean handoff process to post-sales teams.
**Proof of Concept (POC) Ownership**: Run and manage end-to-end POC processes. Scope success criteria upfront with prospects and AEs. Own data ingestion and account configuration, working with prospect data/IT teams to ingest real data correctly. Manage POCs through completion, ensuring they drive clear go/no-go decisions. Partner closely with Engineering.
**Demo Environment & Experience**: Own the evolution of Trebellar's standard demo environment, keeping it current and credible to technical buyers. Continuously improve demo flows based on field feedback. Curate bespoke demos for large prospects, mapping narratives to their specific use cases and pain points.
**Pre-Sales Data Validation**: Define and own Trebellar's data readiness audit process—assessing a prospect's CRE data landscape (badge/access, floor plans, lease abstracts, occupancy sensors, HRIS). Work directly with prospects' data and IT teams to inventory sources, assess format and quality, and flag gaps early. Translate data mapping and schema requirements into implementation plans.
Success milestones: In 90 days, you're embedded in sales cycles running discovery and demos, and you've audited the current demo environment with a clear improvement roadmap. By 6 months, demo flows reflect your ownership, the data validation process is documented and repeatable, and you're the trusted technical partner IT/security stakeholders sign off through.
**Requirements**
- Prior Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer experience at a scaling company—you've built or grown into the role, not inherited a mature playbook
- Track record supporting large enterprise deals from pre-sales through close, including navigating security review and procurement
- Experience selling to and winning over IT stakeholder teams; comfortable being the technical credibility in the room
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data schemas, and data mapping; able to assess messy datasets and map them to target models
- High attention to detail and strong personal organization; you build repeatable processes, not tribal knowledge
- Clear, credible communicator who can flex between technical depth (with data/IT audiences) and business value (with economic buyers)
- Nice to have: familiarity with REST APIs and JSON
- Nice to have: exposure to corporate real estate, facilities, or workplace data
- Comfortable in early-stage environments—energized by defining process from scratch rather than optimizing existing ones
