Inspira Education Group is a fast-growing edtech startup backed by leading venture capital firms including Zeev Ventures, Quiet Capital, Craft Ventures, and founder Jeff Fluhr (StubHub). The company operates as the world's leading network of top admissions coaches in medical, legal, business, and college studies, combining software and services to democratize access to high-quality coaching and disrupt traditional application processes.
This Sales Development Representative role is non-traditional: rather than prospecting for sales opportunities, you will focus entirely on building the company's talent pipeline. You'll work directly with the founding team to identify, evaluate, and recruit key personnel across the organization. This position offers rare early-career exposure to how startup founders think about hiring—which roles matter most, what defines a strong candidate, and how to build relationships with prospective hires before they're ready to move.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working directly with founders to build and maintain a candidate pipeline for open roles
- Researching and identifying prospective candidates using LinkedIn and other sourcing tools
- Writing and sending personalized outreach messages to engage candidates and build long-term relationships
- Tracking and managing pipeline activity and candidate status in the ATS
- Refining sourcing approaches based on what resonates with different candidate types
- Taking on ad hoc projects as founder priorities shift
This role requires 5 days per week in-office attendance at the NYC office (Gramercy location).
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience as an SDR or in a comparable outbound/prospecting role (prospecting and outreach skills are what transfer; sales experience is not required)
- High energy, strong work ethic, and genuine willingness to learn a new skill set outside the traditional SDR path
- Comfortable with high-volume outreach and consistent follow-up
- Strong written communication skills; ability to write compelling, personalized messages quickly
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage a large, active pipeline without dropping items
- Excited to work closely with founders and take on real responsibility early in your career
