RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions combining hardware, software, and AI. As Safety Programmer Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone of the safety controller architecture and functional safety compliance. You will take total ownership of the embedded C/C++ safety software stack while ensuring systems meet the highest international safety standards. Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and testing high-reliability safety software in C/C++ for next-generation Intel-based safety controllers; maintaining and updating certified safety applications on PLC platforms with parameter updates and change management; driving functional safety compliance across the development lifecycle adhering to ISO 13849-1, IEC 61508, and MISRA standards; authoring certification documentation including software safety requirements, system architecture, and verification evidence for formal certification; serving as the primary technical contact for TÜV and other external notified bodies during formal safety assessments; and managing external partners including freelancers and contractors working on the safety software stack. Required qualifications include vocational training or degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field; several years of embedded software development experience in C and C++; experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or ISO 13849-1; working knowledge of MISRA C/C++ guidelines and static analysis tools; strong ownership mindset with pragmatic working style and structured, documentation-driven approach; and very good English skills (German is a plus). Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with Safety PLC programming, safety RTOS/hypervisors, and hands-on experience with TÜV certification or notified body audits.
