Johnson & Johnson's Shockwave Medical division is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead clinical sales efforts for their Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) platform, which treats complex calcified cardiovascular disease. This is a people-leadership role focused on building and managing a regional sales team to drive revenue growth and market penetration in hospital and hospital system accounts.
You will oversee a team of field sales representatives, develop regional sales strategies, and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, R&D, and senior leadership to execute go-to-market initiatives for innovative medical devices. Key responsibilities include building and coaching your sales team to exceed quotas, forecasting revenue accurately, developing effective sales plans and strategies, identifying market needs, and serving as an escalation point for complex deals and team issues. You'll also participate in quarterly business reviews, stay current on product and industry developments, and perform field sales activities as needed to support regional objectives.
The role requires 50%+ travel and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and working both independently and collaboratively.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing a sales team and exceeding team quotas
- Proven track record of leading sales in the medical device or disposable device markets
- Strong sales, recruiting, leadership, organization, planning, and prioritization skills
- Results-oriented with multiple years of meeting or exceeding quota, ideally with experience bringing innovative, market-defining products to market
- Ability to develop and critically analyze a sales pipeline and forecast
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills to align and foster positive working relationships across the organization (internal and external)
- Ability to travel over 50% if needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Ability to operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements
